ABOUT THE ARTIST

Mike G is a Topeka native, independent artist who has a love and passion for music. His desire is to wield his gift of creating music in a way that motivates and heals all who listen. Coming from humble beginnings, he began by playing the drums at church at the age of 9 and has since taught himself how to play the guitar and piano. Gospel, Jazz, and Hip Hop has fueled his musical inspiration. His father, Virgil, has had an influence by playing the bass guitar live with several bands throughout the years. Mike earned an Audio Production degree from Full Sail University so he could become a fully independent artist and record whenever inspired from the comfort of his home studio. Since getting married in 2021, he has teamed up with his wife, Kayla, on several projects. Covering everything from album art, to recording and creating content, taking photos, designing merch, creating lyrics videos and capitalizing on moments by recording his first music video, “Unattached,” in downtown Topeka, “To Whom It May Concern” on vacation in Mexico, and “Save It,” at his favorite restaurant, El Mezcal. They haven’t let money hold them back and recorded all 3 music videos on his iPhone 13 Pro Max. He has been focused on growing his catalog by writing and recording music as well as performing locally.
